The on-line application process and payment processing will be
managed by a third-party vendor, Permitium.

Under Penal Code section 26190, local agencies issuing CCW permits may establish a fee
structure in line with reasonable costs associated with the CCW processing, issuance, and
enforcement. The CCW permitting fees will assist with cost recovery associated with our CCW
process. This includes the annual service fee charged by Permitium ($3,530 per year), City
staff time (estimated to be four hours for new permits, one hour for renewals, and one-half
hour for modifications/ duplicates). CCW applicants will pay an initial fee of $200, which will be
paid to Permitium and includes the Live Scan criminal history check and the initial application
fee.

Standard Permit
(2 years)
Judicial Officer
Permit
(3 years)
Reserve Officer
Permit
(4 years)
Initial Fee
Paid upon submission
of application
$200 $200 $200
Issuance Fee
Paid upon approval of
permit
$300 $300 $300
Renewal Fee
Paid upon submission
of application
$100 $100 $100
Modification/Duplicate
Fee
Paid upon submission
of application
$25 $25 $25

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
This action reflects the need to balance the City's interest in public safety and reasonable cost
recovery against new requirements under state law.
