Page 1 of 7 <br />Item #19.a <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> <br />May 7, 2024 <br />Community Development <br /> <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF HOUSING AND <br />HUMAN SERVICES GRANT AND COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 2024 GRANT FUNDING CYCLE (CITY FISCAL YEAR 2024/25) <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br />The Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 Housing and Human Services Grant (HHSG) program received <br />27 applications for funding from a range of agencies serving a variety of community needs. <br />The HHSG program distributes funding from the federal Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), the City’s Lower <br />Income Housing Funds (LIHF), and the City’s General Fund. The Community Grant (CG) <br />program, funded by the General Fund, received 22 applications serving the arts/culture and <br />youth categories. Collectively, $1,273,402 would be allocated to various programs. This report <br />summarizes the applications that were received for the HHSG and CG programs and provides <br />a funding recommendation from the respective advisory commissions to allocate funds <br />beginning July 1, 2024. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. As recommended by the Human Services Commission, allocate $684,373 from the sources <br />listed to fund the applications as presented in Table A of the draft Resolution (and provided <br />separately as Attachment 1) for human services-related projects. <br /> <br />General Fund $257,864 <br />CDBG Public Services $ 76,636 <br />CDBG Administration $ 76,069 <br />CDBG Capital $273,804 <br />TOTAL $684,373 <br /> <br />2. As recommended by the Housing Commission, allocate $509,029 from the sources listed to <br />fund the applications as presented in Table A of the draft Resolution (and provided separately <br />as Attachment 2) for housing-related projects. <br /> <br />Lower Income Housing Fund $366,374 <br />HOME Fund $135,000 <br />HOME Administration $ 7,655 <br />TOTAL $509,029 <br /> <br />3.
