City Council Minutes Page 5 of 8 June 18, 2024 <br />17.Presentation of a Proclamation to recognize the City of Pleasanton's 130th <br />anniversary of incorporation <br />Councilmember Balch presented the proclamation to recipients from Museum on <br />Main. <br />18.Presentation by Three Valleys Community Foundation <br />Presentation by Kelly Bowers, President of Three Valleys Community Foundation. <br />19.Public Comment regarding items not listed on the agenda – Speakers are limited to <br />3 minutes. <br />Mayor Brown opened public comment. There being no speakers, Mayor Brown <br />closed the public comment. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br />20.Receive a report outlining polling results, draft ballot measure language, and other <br />considerations related to a local sales tax ballot measure <br />Recommendation: <br />1.Review and discuss the polling results toward <br />assessing placement of a local sales tax measure before the voters in <br />November 2024; and, <br />2.Provide direction on the content of legislation that would be approved at a <br />future City Council meeting to be held no later than July 16, 2024, placing an <br />ordinance before the voters of the City of Pleasanton imposing a <br />Transactions and Use Tax to be administered by the California Department <br />of Tax and Fee Administration; and, <br />3.Discuss the content of information to communicate with the public about a <br />local sales tax measure. <br />Presentation by Curt Below with FM3 Research. <br />Mayor Brown opened public comment. The following individuals provided <br />comment: Jan Batcheller, Frankie Ayers, Frank Nasca, Stephen Wallace, Vicki <br />LaBarge, Kelly Ceglio. <br />Mayor Brown closed the public comment. <br />The City Council provided direction indicating majority support to proceed with <br />consideration at the July 16 meeting for placement of a revenue measure for the <br />November general election ballot.
