Ordinance No. 2281 <br /> Page 3 of 32 <br /> Exhibit A <br /> Chapter 9.14 <br /> STORMWATER MANAGEMENT AND DISCHARGE CONTROL <br /> § 9.14.010 Purpose and intent. <br /> This chapter shall be known as the "City of Pleasanton Stormwater Management and <br /> Discharge Control Ordinance" and may be so cited. <br /> The purpose of this chapter is to ensure the future health, safety and general welfare of <br /> Pleasanton citizens by: <br /> A. Eliminating the non-stormwater discharges to the municipal separate storm sewer <br /> (hereinafter referred to as MS4). <br /> B. Controlling the discharge to municipal separate storm sewers from spills, dumping <br /> or disposal of materials other than stormwater; <br /> C. Reducing pollutants and wastes in stormwater discharges to the maximum extent <br /> practicable (MEP); <br /> D. Establishing the City of Pleasanton to comply with the California Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board San Francisco Bay Area Region Municipal Regional <br /> Stormwater National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit <br /> (hereinafter referred to as the MRP), or amended as revised, NPDES Permit No. <br /> CAS612008, any reissuance thereof, and applicable federal and state regulations. <br /> The MRP is available on the Regional Water Board website at: <br /> https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/sanfranciscobay/water_issues/programs/stormwat <br /> er/The intent of this ordinance is to protect and enhance the water quality of our <br /> watercourses, water bodies, and wetlands in a manner pursuant to and consistent <br /> with the Clean Water Act and the California Water Code. <br /> § 9.14.020 Compliance with Other Laws <br /> A. The requirements of this chapter are minimum requirements. They do not <br /> replace, repeal, abrogate, supersede, or affect any other more stringent <br /> requirements, rules, regulations, covenants, standards, or restrictions. Where this <br /> chapter imposes requirements that are more protective of human health or the <br /> environment than those set forth elsewhere, the provisions of this chapter shall <br /> prevail. <br /> B. Approvals and permits granted under this chapter are not waivers of the <br /> requirements of any other laws, nor do they indicate compliance with any other <br /> laws. Compliance is still required with all applicable federal, state, regional, and <br /> local laws and regulations, including rules promulgated under authority of this <br /> chapter. <br />
