TWICE?
b. How much sales tax revenue did we lose because of the delays in opening
one of the most successful retail operations in the world?
3. Surrounding Communities with the same sales tax rate
a. Dublin has the same sales tax rate and is in the middle of building a whole
new high school and we can no longer afford to build a skate park?
b. Livermore has the same sales tax rate with a high school that is 25 years
older than Amador and looks 75 years younger.

How about taxing landlords who let their properties sit vacant or lease to tenants that
contribute nothing to sales tax revenue in a valuable retail location? Perhaps we can
stop paying for bright green barriers that do a better job of protecting weeds than bikers.

Pleasanton residents are not looking for a quick fix, nor are we ignorant to the challenges
our deteriorating city faces, we see it every day. We want a city council that we can trust,
that reflects not only the needs of our community but also the diversity of its residents.
By voting on a sales tax increase, YOU are asking us to give YOU more money…people
don’t give money to people they don’t trust, it’s just that simple.

The other solutions brought to you by Pleasanton residents WILL fix the problem…the
lack of TRUST problem. THEN you will have success getting us to support an extra 50
cents for every $100 we spend.

Gavin Shea
Pleasanton Resident sine 2003
