SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL

4

In brief, the report and CEQA review found that, although a portion of the site
is located within a designated Fault Zone, there are no faults located within
the site itself. The project would be required to comply with Building Code
standards and other standards that address seismic hazards and risk more
generally, and per the Housing Element EIR, impacts related to geologic
hazards were found to be less than significant. Per the checklist analysis,
based on the geology report, no site- or project-specific hazards were found
with respect to seismic or other related geotechnical hazard that were unique
to the site and not analyzed in the Housing Element EIR; only one mitigation
measure, MM GEO-6, related to paleontological resources, was found to be
applicable to the project. This mitigation measure has been included in the
recommended project Conditions of Approval (COAs). COA 68 (Geotechnical
Recommendations); COA 69 (Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zoning Act)
and COA 94 (Geotechnical Final Report) address appropriate geotechnical
design to address on-site soils and geotechnical conditions.

Based on the above-referenced analysis and conditions of approval, staff
concludes that all geotechnical hazards will be properly addressed.
