P24 0278 2207 MARTIN TENNIS LIGHTS

Wed 5/15/2024 7:29 PM
To: Diego Mora <DMora@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
*** [EXTERNAL] This message comes from an external organization. Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking links,
especially from unknown senders. ***
Mr. Mora,
Thanks for allowing me to comment.
This owner has demonstrated a history of “better to ask for forgiveness than permission” and
this is an opportunity for the City of Pleasanton to put a stop to it.
The backside of the lot, where the court is now located is an already narrow street with a tight
turn. This strip of road is heavily traveled for school / park activities and in real need of a
sidewalk. Neighboring property was even asked to make a deposit for the sidewalk before
being granted city permit to build. This homeowner has ignored the rules and built the court
without initially getting permission and thinks he can do it again.
Why it should not be allowed:
Homeowner did not get City approval prior to pouring the court.
Light poles were erected prior to any city approvals.
Homeowner stated multiple times at a city meeting he was not intending to install lights (but
poles are there).
The court lighting likely is a distraction and dangerous to drivers on a narrow road.
There does not appear to be time constraints for nighttime play.
Tennis can also add to nighttime noise for nearby homes.
The poles are already an eyesore and distraction.
My hope is the city will not allow this bullying behavior and deny the request for lights and
require the poles to be removed.
Thank you again,
Gary Spears
Dennis Drive
5/16/24, 10 34 AM Mail Diego Mora Outlook
https //outlook office365 com/mail/inbox/id/AAQkADU4YzE1MDI1LWJjYjEtNGUwNi04MGM0LWRmNjhlM2QzYmMzYwAQAPcnMP5wcxdNkml2dtrhZo 1/1
