Application #: P24 0278
Michele Peterson
Fri 4/19/2024 10:59 AM
To: Diego Mora <DMora@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
*** [EXTERNAL] This message comes from an external organization. Exercise caution when opening
attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders. ***
Hi Diego -
Here are the comments from Michele and Ray Peterson Dennis Drive.
We live directly adjacent to the tennis court at 2207 Martin Avenue.
The tennis court is approximately 6 feet from our property line and runs 110 feet along the fence line
from the front yard to the back.
It is important to note that our master bedroom is on this side and faces the tennis court.
The applicants have repeatedly stated that they were not doing lights, both to us personally and to the
Planning Commissioners.
We negotiated an agreement with the applicants based on these statements, compromising on fence
height and side setbacks.
At the last Planning Commission meeting in December 2023, we expressed our opposition to tennis
court lighting based on that agreement, on the lack of appropriate setbacks, and the fact that the project
was started and poured in place before contacting the City or the neighbors.
This resulted in the Planning Commission adding the ADR condition for lighting over 8 feet.
We oppose any lighting and especially lighting on 15-foot-tall poles.
3 of those poles would be facing our master bedroom.
There would be no way to prevent the invasion of our privacy.
We ask that you give consideration to how these lights would affect not only us, who have lived on the
property since 1998, but all of the surrounding neighbors, and how the lights would impact the
aesthetics of the area.
We would also like to request a hearing with the ZA.
Thank you for your time,
Michele and Ray Peterson
Sent from my iPad
4/22/24, 2 04 PM Mail Diego Mora Outlook
https //outlook office365 com/mail/AQMkADU4YzE1MDI1LWJjYjEtNGUwNi04MGM0LWRmNjhlM2QzYmMzYwAuAAAD2BhmSoQUk0682yYoSO8IiA 1/1
