Dear Mr. Saklaen: In accordance with your request, we are pleased to provide this scope of work summary and fee estimate for the subject project. Included herein are a project description, scope of services outline and resultant fee estimate. We have assumed that prevailing wage requirements will apply to our field representatives on this project and work will occur at night. This scope of work summary and fee estimate has been revised to reflect changes to the project scope. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF SERVICES The project will consist of constructing a southbound right-turn lane along Hopyard Road at the Owens Drive intersection, modifying the lane configurations on Hopyard Road south of Owens Drive, adding a southbound bike lane from the I-580 eastbound off-ramp intersection to south of Owens Drive, constructing a soundwall along the west side of Hopyard Road north of Owens Drive, rehabilitating existing pavements, and various improvements to sidewalks, curb and gutter, traffic signals, and storm drain facilities. A portion of the project will be constructed within the Caltrans Right-of-Way, and we understand that materials testing and inspections are to be in general conformance with Caltrans’ requirements. We anticipate our technicians will be onsite for materials inspection and/or special inspection related to the following activities: • Drilling of shafts for cast-in-drilled-hole piers for the soundwall. • Concrete placement for traffic signal foundations, soundwall piers, soundwall pile cap, soundwall barrier, and high-early-strength driveway pavement. • Masonry construction for the soundwall. • Backfill operations for storm drain improvements and sound wall structural backfill.
