RESOLUTION NO. 2024-014 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE TO UPDATE FEES FOR SMALL WIRELESS FACILITY APPLICATIONS, AND FINES FOR FALSE ALARMS WHEREAS, the fees to process a small wireless facility application were adopted in 2019 and have not been updated since that time. Fees are being increased to reflect inflation from 2019 to 2024, and then to provide for an annual inflation adjustment thereafter; and WHEREAS, false alarm fines have not been updated since 1985, and since 95% of alarms are false, that continues to squander police resources. False alarm fines are being increased to reflect current police response costs, provide for an annual inflation adjustment, and encourage proper alarm system operation. "I NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. Amends the Master Fee Schedule as follows: Section ll. Planning Division, Subsection B. Application Fees: Small Wireless Facility Application PMC 18.110* In the Public Right-of-Way $4,348 On private property $4,088 *These application fees shall be adjusted annually on January 1St based on the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI)for the San Francisco/Oakland region, rounded to the nearest dollar. Section V. Police, Subsection A. General: First false alarm in prior 365-day period $0 False Alarm Fine* Second or third false alarm in prior 365-day period $196 Fourth or more false alarm in prior 365-day period $392 *Such fine amounts shall be adjusted annually on January 1St based on the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the San Francisco/Oakland region, rounded to the nearest dollar. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
