ORDINANCE NO. 2276 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> MODIFYING THE DUTIES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION BY AMENDING <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.30.020 AND DISBANDING THE HOUSING <br /> COMMISSION BY DELETING CHAPTER 2.38 <br /> WHEREAS, the City values members of the community volunteering their time to provide <br /> recommendations to the City Council, and desires to use volunteer time efficiently; and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 17, 2023, February 20, 2024, and March 5, 2024, at duly noticed <br /> public meetings, the City Council considered commission and committee reorganization, and <br /> determined that the Planning Commission should be modified to incorporate most of the duties of <br /> the Housing Commission as those commissions have fit and similarity in areas of focus, and that <br /> the City can disband the Housing Commission as development patterns for large scale housing <br /> development involving the City has changed. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Finds that the proposed amendments to the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> have no possibility to have a significant effect on the environment per Title 14 California Code of <br /> Regulations (CEQA Guidelines) § 15061(b)(3). <br /> SECTION 2. Amends the Pleasanton Municipal Code Section 2.30.020 as shown in <br /> Exhibit A, attached, and incorporated by this reference, to modify the duties of the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> SECTION 3. Amends the Pleasanton Municipal Code to delete Chapter 2.39 Housing <br /> Commission in its entirety. Most of the duties which were assigned to the Housing Commission <br /> in the Pleasanton Municipal Code are generally assumed by the Planning Commission, such as <br /> the review of affordable housing agreements per Section 17.44.090, and those duties which have <br /> more recently not been carried out by the Housing Commission are not assigned to the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> SECTION 4. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City <br /> Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 5.
