RESOLUTION NO. 2024-011 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ACCEPT THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY GRANT <br /> FUNDS FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LAGUAGE SERVICES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br /> 2024/25 <br /> WHEREAS, the California State Library supports libraries with state funded and federally <br /> funded grants, statewide subscriptions to electronic resources, and statewide initiatives with <br /> partners offering further resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Public Library's English-as-a-Second-Language Services <br /> Grant applications were selected for grant funding, which will be used to enhance services to the <br /> Pleasanton community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes the City Manager to accept the California State Library grants <br /> funding for English-as-a-Second-Language Services Grant in the amount of $61,071, as <br /> referenced in Exhibit A and execute all necessary documents required by the grant programs. <br /> SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on March 5, 2024. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 511 day of March 2024, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Jo n Kwjngj Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> AJA,Wtg� <br /> aniel G.
