A. The commission shall have 15 regular commissioners, all of whom shall be residents of the city. B. The 15 regular commissioners shall include: three students from middle school; six students who are high school freshmen or sophomores; and six students who are high school juniors or seniors. C. Commissioners shall be appointed by the mayor subject to ratification by the city council, as provided in the adopted city resolution establishing procedures for appointments to boards and commissions. D. Commissioners shall be eligible to participate in all activities of the commission. E. Commissioners shall be compensated as established by city council resolution or as allowed by state law. 2.29.040 Term of membership. A. Commissioners shall be eligible to serve a maximum of four years with two terms of two years. B. The term of a commissioner shall be consistent with and subject to city council resolution concerning limiting service on boards and commissions. 2.29.080 Meetings. A. Regular meetings shall be held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, at a time and place set by the commission. The commission may approve an alternate meeting date. B. Special meetings may be called by the chairperson or by a majority of the commissioners, the city manager, and/or the city council provided written notice is given 48 hours in advance of the special meeting to the following: each commissioner, local newspapers of general circulation, and anyone filing written request for notice with the city clerk.
