Unfo r tunate ly the cur r ent s taff r epor t s ugges tio n to r eor ganize"the C om m is s ions ,s pecifically having the C ivic Ar ts Comm is s ion mer ge with the Libr ar y Comm is s ion,wo uld m ake it extr eme ly difficult to get thr ough e ach o f the gr oup's action items and their m anda ted r ole within the allo tted m eeting da tes .S ome of the C om mis s ions have lengthy Community G rants to revie w which requir es s ever al hour s a nd ann entir e Commis s io n mee ting to dis tr ibute gr ant funding for arts and human s ervices gr ants and additiona l m eetings to review thos e gr ants . Mos t im por tantly the co m mis s ions each have differ ent functions and go als and ther efor e the im pact of m er ging two differ ent co mmis s io ns would m ean le s s effective and efficient advis ory ability to the co m munity and the C ity C ouncil.
