Ordinance No. City Council, February 20, 2024 <br />Exhibit A to Ordinance, PMC Amendments, Page 1 <br />EXHIBIT A <br />Amend these three sections of Chapter 2.29 Youth Commission: <br />2.29.030 Memberships—Appointments. <br />2.29.040 Term of membership. <br />2.29.080 Meetings. <br />other sections remain unchanged. <br />2.29.030 Memberships—Appointments. <br /> A. The commission shall have 151 regular commissioners, and three alternate <br />commissioners all of whom shall be residents of the city. <br /> B. The 151 regular commissioners shall include: three students from middle school; <br />six three students from who are high school freshmen or sophomores; and six students who are <br />high school juniors or seniorsfour at large student representatives from grades six through 12; <br />and one adult commissioner from the community at large. <br /> C. The two alternate youth commissioners shall be from grades six through 12 and <br />shall be selected from the community at large. The one alternate adult commissioner shall be <br />selected from the community at large. <br /> D. The regular cCommissioners and the alternate commissioners shall be appointed <br />by the mayor subject to ratification by the city council, as provided in the adopted city resolution <br />establishing procedures for appointments to boards and commissions. <br /> E. Commissioners shall be eligible to participate in all activities of the commission <br />except that the alternate commissioner shall vote only in the event of an absence or conflict of <br />interest of one of the regular youth commissioners. <br /> F. The alternate commissioners may serve as a voting member on any subcommittee <br />of the commission. <br /> FG. Commissioners shall be compensated as established by city council resolution or <br />as allowed by state law. <br />2.29.040 Term of membership. <br /> A. Regular youth cCommissioners shall be eligible to serve a maximum of six four <br />years with three two terms of two years. <br /> B. The regular adult commissioner shall be eligible to serve a maximum term of eight <br />years with two four-year terms. <br />Page 20 of 228
