Council Agenda (Receive a presentation on the
Eastern Alameda County Human Services Needs Assessment and accept the final report).
Question: How is the need for shelter addressed in the plan?
Response:
Shelter needs are addressed in two of the assessment actionable recommendations:
Recommendation 1—Create a Regional Service Network. One potential feature is to co-locate services with diverse
navigators. Part of this service diversity network should include the unhoused and support needed.
Recommendation 5—Consider Multi-Sector Service and Infrastructure Solutions. Acknowledging the complexity of
housing, solutions must be multifaceted, responding to different levels of need. For example—temporary assistance
including shelters and transitional housing for those who have become unhoused. Also, offering case management to
connect individuals and families with housing services and support.
In general, the plan provides a framework, and the work to implement will fall to staff from the three cities and our
partners (i.e., non-profits and faith-based organizations).
Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further.
Have a good evening,
Gerry Beaudin, AICP (He/Him)
City Manager
Office: 925-931-5002
gbeaudin@cityofpleasantonca.gov
City of Pleasanton ( P.O.
