<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />AGENDA REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />January 11, 2024 <br />Item 6 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE <br />PROJECTS STATUS REPORT FOR JULY 2023 – DECEMBER 2023 <br /> <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br />This report is submitted for informational purposes and summarizes the landscape <br />architecture projects and tasks from the last six months. The report intends to inform the <br />Commission of the status of ongoing landscape architecture projects for the period from <br />July 2023 through December 2023. Items that are italicized and marked with this <br />symbol ❖ denote new information since the last report. <br /> <br />For brevity’s sake, only project tasks from the last two years are shown. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Review and discuss the landscape architecture projects status report for July 2023 – <br />December 2023. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Landscape Architecture Division is comprised of the City’s Landscape Architect and <br />Landscape Architect Assistant. The Division works under the City Engineer for the <br />Public Works Department and works on a range of projects and tasks including trail and <br />park design and construction, master planning of the City’s trail system, park system, <br />and urban forest, landscape and irrigation renovations, oversight of the City’s Tree <br />Preservation Ordinance, management of the City’s five landscape maintenance <br />districts, and plan development review. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />Landscape Architecture activities for July 2023 through December 2023 included <br />planning and management of our parks, trails, and urban forest. Items that are italicized <br />and marked with this symbol ❖ denote new information since the last report. <br />
