<br />Page 5 of 6 <br />weed abatement, tree trimming, irrigation, setting of base pegs, and installation of <br />permanent fixtures. <br /> <br />User groups are responsible for the following: <br />• Providing own field prep equipment <br />• Weekend infield grooming such as watering, dragging <br />• Chalking infields <br />• Setting up/removing temporary outfield fencing <br />• Field lining <br />• Placing/removing equipment (i.e., goals, cricket wickets, etc.) <br />• Ensuring the facility is free of trash or debris, including restrooms and parking <br />areas. <br /> <br />Future Collaboration <br /> <br />The handbook is designed to enhance transparency, promote efficiency, and optimize <br />the utilization of the fields for the entire community. Through ongoing discussion and <br />collaboration, staff will continue to work with co-sponsored organizations to adjust the <br />handbook annually in the best interest of the entire co-sponsored organization group. <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />The field allocation process exists to promote maximum use of and equitable access to <br />City fields and sports facilities by all community members. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />The draft Sports Co-Sponsorship Athletic Field Allocation Handbook was emailed to <br />each co-sponsored organization on November 21, 2023. Staff requested review and <br />feedback by December 21, 2023. Feedback and responses are included (Attachment <br />4). <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This action advances the following Citywide goals and strategies: <br /> <br />ONE Pleasanton Citywide Strategic Plan (Attachment 5) <br />• Investing In Our Environment, Strategy 7 - Continue to invest in parks, bicycle, <br />and pedestrian infrastructure, and public art to improve traffic safety, promote <br />climate resilience, and increase equitable access to cultural and recreational <br />opportunities <br />• Building A Community Where Everyone Belongs, Strategy 3 - Implement high- <br />priority items from the Library and Recreation Strategic Plan to continue to <br />deliver activities and programs that meet the needs and interests of the <br />community. <br /> <br />o Library and Recreation Strategic Plan (Attachment 6) <br />• Goal B Community Engagement, Customer Service and <br />Communication, Strategy 12 - Identify opportunities for increasing
