There is plenty of documentation as to why this is not only a good idea, but a necessity for the future of
Pleasanton and our society as a whole. See Kelly's links below.
What I would like to discuss, is Pleasanton's unique approach to solving this issue.
You see, I have had exactly zero influence in even bringing the matter up for a vote at my HOA meetings
here at Ruby Hill.
Let me be specific:
ISSUES as to why the board here will NOT even consider putting it up for a vote here.
1) It will pass 100% no problem, but we will be perceived more
"elitist" than we already are.
2) A ban is CERTAINLY discriminatory against minorities, their families, and basically THEIR survival, not
just an economic hardship.
3) Our properties are so massive that it will take our landscapers 2-3 times as long to maintain, thus
doubling or tripling our costs, and their rates... by necessity. Particularly if they have to go back to using
a broom and a rake.
4)They can't afford to retool using electric source
5) Current battery life technology will not last much more than an hour, rendering these tools useless
quickly.
1
