Page 1 of 2 <br />Item #2 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> <br />December 5, 2023 <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION SETTING THE 2024 CALENDAR YEAR CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING SCHEDULE <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br />The Pleasanton Municipal Code Chapter 2.04.010 states that the City Council shall establish <br />the dates and times of its regular meetings. A regular meeting schedule for the 2024 calendar <br />year will assist in managing City Council meeting agendas and inform the public of planned <br />public meetings. <br /> <br />The proposed 2024 calendar year schedule has 20 meeting dates. Regular meetings start at 7 <br />p.m. in the City Council Chamber. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution setting the 2024 calendar year City Council meeting schedule with 20 <br />regular meetings. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />In the years 2017 through 2023, the City held 19 or 20 regularly scheduled meetings per year. <br />For the 2024 calendar year, it is proposed that the City Council set 20 meeting dates. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />The proposed 2024 calendar year schedule has 20 meeting dates. Typically, regular meetings <br />are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The first Tuesday of November is not <br />scheduled as it is Election Day. Regular meetings start at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council <br />Chamber. It is recommended that the Council adopt the resolution setting the 2024 calendar <br />year schedule. <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />This schedule does not impact City-observed holidays. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />No outreach was conducted, as this is an administrative matter to conduct City business. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Not applicable, as this item is a routine item of City business. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 15 of 371
