Christina Casha
From: Ellen Holmgren
Sent: Monday, November 6, 2023 11:50 AM
To: ronlessard
Cc: Pleasanton City Clerk; Ellen Clark; Diego Mora
Subject: RE: Leaf Blowers and Intersection at West Las Positas at Muirwood
Dear Ron Lessard,
Thank you for your email to the Mayor and City Council. I do not like the noise or the smell, but my points listed below override
these issues. If the city's concern is pollution the city council should mandate that all new housing construction must be
equipped with solar panels (I notice that all the homes by the Adobe on Foothill are without solar. This is ridiculous.
I use to cut my own grass and 1 used a battery operated leaf blower. I often had to charge it a second time in order to
complete my work.
I currently use a lawn service and I do not see how they can complete multiple homes'yard's without having to have
several batteries. Batteries are very expensive and I it would greatly increase their cost. It is worth pointing out that we
are fortunate to be able to live in Pleasanton. Most lawn service individuals are not as fortunate. I also believe such a
decision would be racist.
I also oppose the removal of the east side crosswalk at the corner of West Las Positas and Muirwood. I use this
crosswalk a couple of times each week. If it is removed I will have to wait and cross 3 streets instead of just 1. 1 do not
understand why this would even be considered. This make Pleasanton less walker friendly. I would hope that
Pleasanton encourages walking.
Ron Lessard
1
