Next Rate Study
To fund the selected water supply alternative (i.e., two new wells), the necessary interim
water distribution system improvements (approved by the City Council on August 15,
2023), and projects that will be identified as part of the forthcoming water system master
plan, a new rate study will need to be performed in 2025 to be effective at the start of
2026. In addition to including the primary components of a comprehensive rate study,
this next rate study will also evaluate policy considerations and factors such as the level
of subsidy, tiered rate structure, fixed and variable rate distribution, and rebates.
Effective Date
With City Council action on November 7 to increase rates as those recommended by
Staff, or pursuant to the modified alternative provided, new water and sewer rates would
be effective January 1, 2024.
Attachments:
1.
