THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON� <br /> November 7, 2023 <br /> Library and Recreation <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PACIFIC LIBRARY <br /> PARTNERSHIP GRANT FOR MEMORY KITS FOR ADULTS AND THEIR <br /> CAREGIVERS IN AN AMOUNT OF $11,915 FOR FY 2023/24 AND <br /> APPROVE A BUDGET AMENDMENT IN THE MISCELLANEOUS GRANT <br /> FUND <br /> SUMMARY <br /> As a California cooperative library system, the Pacific Library Partnership (PLP) <br /> supports member public libraries in the Bay Area, bringing value to communities <br /> through programs such as the Innovation and Technology Opportunity Grants. Through <br /> collaboration with the Pleasanton Senior Center and the Pleasanton Public Library, the <br /> City has been awarded a funding opportunity for Memory Kits for-Adults and their <br /> Caregivers that would create a new library collection paired with interactive <br /> programming to serve the cognitive needs of senior adults. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution accepting the PLP grant for memory kits for adults and their <br /> caregivers in an amount of $11,915 for FY 2023/24 (Attachment 1) and amend the FY <br /> 2023/24 Budget Appropriation for the Miscellaneous Grant Fund. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> For the PLP grant, $11,915 has been awarded to the City to cover the cost of materials <br /> and salaries for the development of Memory Kits. The City applied for the grant after the <br /> Fiscal Year (FY) 2023/24 budget had been submitted and approved. Now, based on the <br /> actual grant awarded for this program, the City Council is requested to approve a <br /> budget amendment to increase the PLP grant revenue appropriation in account <br /> #11652102-333252-16805 by $11,915. <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
