The
California Transportation Commission has issued a notice of funding availability for
projects where a funding need is anticipated in Fiscal Years 2026/27 and 2027/28.
Approximately $43.8 million is anticipated to be available for projects in Alameda
County.
The Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) is responsible for
collecting information on projects from local agencies in the county and providing a list
of recommended projects to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). The
MTC will create a final list from the greater Bay Area for consideration of STIP fund
allocation by the California Transportation Commission.
The City submitted a request for $6 million for the 1-680/Sunol Interchange
Modernization Project, CIP 15551 to the Alameda CTC for consideration in the 2024
STIP funding process. Alameda CTC
has included this project on the recommendation list submitted to MTC. Staff
recommends submitting final STIP application materials to MTC, including this
requested City Council Resolution of Local Support, in November 2023.
