Pleasanton Downtown Association <br /> Marketing: The Marketing Committee includes two board members and approximately eight <br />volunteers. The committee researches and implements creative marketing strategies for PDA members and <br />the district. Programs for marketing Pleasanton's downtown have included advertisements in local and <br />regional media (newspapers, visitors guides, radio, Comcast television, etc.), a website that features an <br />online business directory and available properties, and a newly created membership directory/downtown <br />guide. <br /> <br /> Economic Restructuring: The Economic Restructuring Committee includes four board members and <br />approximately 10 volunteers and property owners. There are three subcommittees: (1) Business Research which <br />gathers and disseminates market data, (2) Business Retention which supports the existing businesses in the district <br />through information, networking and programs, and (3) Business Recruitment which works to attract new <br />businesses to the district. <br /> <br /> Design: The Design Committee includes two board members and approximately six volunteers. This <br />committee is involved in recommending and commenting on planning and design issues to the City. They are also <br />involved in coordinating with the City to implement projects in the Downtown Specific Plan, as well as <br />promoting and updating the City's recently revised downtown design guidelines. The Design Committee <br />continues to promote interest in the historic character of downtown by offering the Pleasanton Historic Downtown <br />Walking Tour Guide. Quarterly, the committee selects one downtown property owner or business to receive the <br />NEAT (Neighborhood Environment Attractiveness Team) Award who is then recognized in The £leasanton <br />Weekly. <br /> <br />SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS <br />The PDA recorded another successful year, with a number of significant accomplishments: <br /> · The PDA organized and orchestrated a total of 29 events: (5) First Wednesday Street Parties; (2) Antiques <br /> Faires; (13) Concerts in the Park; (1) Great Race (in partnership with the Pleasanton Chamber of <br /> Commerce); (1) Wine Stroll; (1) Truffles, Tidbits and Tastings; (2) Inside/Out Sales; (1) Holiday Evening; <br /> (1) Annual Dinner; (1) Breakfast w/Board; and (1) membership mixer. <br /> · Increased marketing of the PDA. <br /> o Produced 10,000 brochures. The brochure incorporates 2 maps, calendar of events and a <br /> membership directory. <br /> o Partnering with 13 PDA businesses produced and funded production of a 13 week advertising <br /> campaign on Comcast to run in the Th-Valley and Fremont/NewarkAJnion City zones. <br /> o Sponsored a Holiday Radio Campaign including a live remote. <br /> · Produced "Downtown Happenings" a membership newsletter. <br /> · Created opportunities for business networking with a membership mixer in the fall at Vic's All-Star <br /> Kitchen. <br /> · Initiated opportunities for membership feedback with a membership survey and an annual Breakfast with <br /> the Board meeting held July 15th at the Pleasanton Hotel. <br /> · Formed a Merchants Side Street Signage Task Force with the intent to create directional signage for <br /> merchants located off of Main Street. <br /> · Hosted Assemblywoman Ellen Corbett for a tour and meeting of downtown business owners. <br /> · Co-sponsored a Regional Mixer in partnership with the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, the <br /> Pleasanton and Livermore Chambers of Commerce, and the Tri-Valley Business Council. <br /> <br />830 Main Street, Suite A Pleasanton, CA 94566 <br />Phone: (925) 484-2199 / Fax: (925) 484-3064 <br />info~pleasantond owntown.net <br />www.pleasantondox~ ntown.net <br /> <br /> <br />
