<br />45 | City of Pleasanton 2023-2031 Housing Element <br />• Objective: Implement State law requirements when applicable during development <br />applications. The City’s objective is that 100 percent of protected units are replaced in all <br />applicable projects through 2031 <br /> <br />Goal 4: Reduce governmental constraints to the development and improvement of <br />housing where feasible. <br /> <br />Policies <br />Policy 4.1 <br />Update and amend existing City design and development guidelines and standards for residential <br />and mixed-use development, to incorporate objective standards whenever possible, so as reduce <br />uncertainty in the development process while ensuring high quality, livable projects. <br /> <br />Policy 4.2 <br />Ensure that adequate infrastructure is available to support future planned residential growth. <br /> <br />Policy 4.3 <br />Update City codes, policies and regulations, or the implementation thereof, as needed to comply <br />with state law and remove governmental constraints to housing production. <br /> <br />Programs <br />Program 4.1 <br />As required by state law, the City will review the status of Housing Element programs by April of <br />each year and deliver the review on the form required by the State Department of Housing and <br />Community Development. Various Housing Element programs will result in amendments to the <br />Zoning Ordinance and other regulatory changes to facilitate the production of housing (e.g., <br />Programs 5.6). <br />• Responsible Agency: Housing Division, Planning Division <br />• Time Period: Annually (by April 1 of each year) <br />• Funding Source: Planning Division Budget, Housing Division Budget <br /> <br />
