I am sure Caltrans will point out the bridge was at a standstill prior to 2019 and the bike lane didn't create the slow traffic. I do think a bit of a reach to compare the Caltrans conversion of 4 miles of freeway to connect two to our conversion of a few blocks of over designed arterials to provide improved safety and access to students going a to school and families to the local grocery store. As for the Burlingame video—I am very familiar with the initial fears of change from businesses and the public.This happens despite numerous studies showing that bike lanes stimulate local business, not hurt it. New York did the most comprehensive study, but there are many others that show the benefit.
