Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders. *** Mayor Brown, Vice-Mayor Balch and Councilmembers, Grateful,for Council having the courage to shelve the 2014 parks plan.The right decision. As we approach these next alternatives plans for Wayside and Delucchi, please understand, these parks are not the City's, not the downtowns, not the the PDA's, not the Firehouse's. It should not be used as a political pawn.The only acceptable way that is a "One Pleasanton" solution to moving forward with one of these designs, is to "stake flag" parks with recommended changes.These will allow you, as our"Leadership Professionals" to understand the positive and negatives of plans. These parks represent the many faces within our Community...all ages. Your opportunity to bring, to light, your understanding, honesty, commitment and leadership to all ages will be well received. Perhaps, using our own students, within our school system, will inspire involvement. And community service credit to their resume. Green flag, lawn. Orange flag, trail. You get my drift.The fact that we,you, City, have not thought of this already, only signals political disfunction. One last thought, there was a 17 year old young man back in the late 50's. His name was Robert Heft. During an American history class project, he realized that Hawaii and Alaska may become a state. He sewed his own American flag with the rows of stars in a certain configuration. His representative took it to Washington DC and presented it to the selection committee. You can only imagine, how that changed Robert's life when his design was selected. Robert became a teacher and became Mayor of Napoleon, Ohio...for seven terms. What this City's been lacking for the last 20 years, is a "One Pleasanton". How would our children feel, react to an inclusionary process? Will stop here. Respectfully, Pete Miller 1
