• Frequency of Meetings: Monthly Civic Arts Commission: • Members: 9 (7 Regular, 1 Youth, and 1 Alternate) • Liaison Department: Library and Recreation • Role: Promote the acquisition, construction and installment of works of public art in Pleasanton. Make recommendations to the City Council regarding the City Civic Arts Program and Community Grants. • Legislative body: No • Frequency of Meetings: At least four times per year Human Services Commission: • Members: 9 (7 Regular, 1 Youth, and 1 Alternate) • Liaison Department: Library and Recreation • Role: Advise the City Council on the human service needs of the community and methods of fulfilling these needs. Particular emphasis is given by the commission to the human service needs of the socially and economically disadvantaged, the elderly and the youth of the community. • Legislative body: No • Frequency of Meetings: Monthly Library Commission: • Members: 9 (7 Regular, 1 Youth, and 1 Alternate) • Liaison Department: Library and Recreation • Role: Advise the City Council on matters related to the Pleasanton Library and library services in general. Promote the use of library services to the community. • Legislative body: No • Frequency of Meetings: Monthly Parks and Recreation Commission: • Members: 7 (5 Regular, 1 Youth, and 1 Alternate) • Liaison Department: Library and Recreation (with support from Public Works) • Role: Advise the City Council on matters related to the development and provision of services pertaining to parks and recreation facilities, programs and services. • Frequency of Meetings: Monthly Youth Commission: • Members: 14 (11 Regular (2 adults and 9 youth) and 3 Alternates) • Liaison Department: Library and Recreation • Role: Act as the liaison between Pleasanton's youth community and the City Council; advise the Council on youth-related issues; promote an understanding and appreciation of community affairs among the youth of Pleasanton. • Legislative body: No Page 3 of 12
