RESOLUTION NO. 23-1419 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT AWARD FROM <br /> THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $39,100 <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is administering the <br /> 2024 Traffic Records Improvement Project ("TRIP") that offers grant funds to reimburse law <br /> enforcement agencies to replace manual input databases with streamlined traffic collision <br /> database systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, this grant promotes data sharing, integrated traffic records systems and <br /> allows traffic engineers to utilize this data to pinpoint high-collision areas and identify crash trends; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has been approved for a grant of $39,100 to purchase <br /> a traffic crash reporting system to expedite traffic collision records processing and increase <br /> reporting efficiency in conjunction with TRIP between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to accept the OTS TRIP grant on <br /> the City's behalf and execute all related documents necessary to implement and secure payment. <br /> SECTION 2.
