their regular hourly rate of pay for each hour worked in said acting assignment. Additionally, a <br /> Police Sergeant in an acting assignment remains part of the PPOA bargaining unit and will <br /> receive all pay and benefits as proscribed in this agreement. <br /> 7.5 Canine Responsibility Pay <br /> Officers assigned canine responsibilities will receive eight(8) hours of pay per pay period, paid <br /> at time and one-half the straight time hourly rate of pay, inclusive of education pay, in <br /> recognition of the time spent in the care, grooming, feeding and activities related to canine <br /> handling. <br /> The parties agree that this provision meets FLSA standards. <br /> 7.6 POST Pay <br /> Employees who possess an Intermediate POST Certificate shall receive an amount equal to five <br /> percent (5%) of base pay and employees who possess an Advanced POST Certificate shall <br /> receive an amount equal to seven percent(7%) of base pay. <br /> Employees will be eligible to begin receiving POST pay after the Human Resources Department <br /> receives written confirmation from the Police Chief that all requirements for the applicable POST <br /> Certificate have been satisfied. The eligible employee's POST pay will be effective the first full <br /> pay period after the human resource's receipt of the Police Chief's written confirmation. <br /> 7.7 On Call Pay <br /> Employees who on their scheduled time off duty may be placed on an on-call status by a <br /> Division Commander. Any such assignment shall be for a minimum period of eight(8) hours <br /> or more. Employees so assigned shall receive an amount equal to fifteen percent(15%) of their <br /> hourly base rate of pay for each hour spent on call. <br /> 7.8 Entrance Salary <br /> The entrance salary for a new employee entering the City service shall be the minimum salary <br /> for the class to which he/she is appointed. When circumstances warrant, the Appointing <br /> Authority may authorize original appointment or reinstatement at other than the minimum rate. <br /> 7.9 Conversion of Pav Rates <br /> Any monthly rate of pay may be converted into any equivalent rate of pay or to any other time <br /> basis when, in the judgment of the City Manager, such a conversion is advisable. In <br /> determining the equivalent amounts on different time basis, the City Manager shall provide <br /> tables or regulations for use in converting monthly salaries to hourly rates, as well as for <br /> calculating hourly rates. <br /> 5 <br />
