MOTION: It was m/s by Nibert/Arkin to approve the consent calendar as recommended except for <br /> item 1. Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 5. Public Comment regarding items not listed on the agenda <br /> Mayor Brown opened public comment. The following individuals provided comment: <br /> Atif Qureshi, Jon Krueger, Vicki LaBarge, Vin Pohray, Pavneet, Diane Rodriguez, Steve Wallace, <br /> Linda Kelly, Naren Chawla, Jennifer Lininger, Judy Wang. <br /> The Mayor closed public comment. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 6. Receive an update on citywide emergency preparedness efforts <br /> Recommendation: Receive update. <br /> Presented by Tracy Hein, Emergency Services Manager with the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br /> Department, Michele Crose, Assistant Director of Library/Recreation, and Brent Blazer, Senior <br /> Emergency Coordinator with the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services. Questions were <br /> also answered by Police Chief David Swing, Fire Chief Joe Testa. <br /> Mayor Brown opened public comment. The following individual provided comment: Jamie Yee. <br /> Mayor Brown closed public comment. <br /> The Mayor recessed the meeting at 9:00 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 9:07 p.m. <br /> 7. Provide policy direction for the police use of situational awareness cameras <br /> Recommendation: Provide policy direction for the use of recorded situational awareness cameras <br /> in the city. If the use of situational awareness cameras is supported by the City Council and the <br /> City is awarded the grant, staff will move forward with implementation after the City Council's <br /> acceptance of the grant. <br /> Presented by Police Chief David Swing and Captain Kurt Schlehuber. <br /> Mayor Brown opened public comment.
