1
Christina Casha
From:Debbie Wallace
Sent:Wednesday, August 16, 2023 9:39 AM
To:Mayor and City Council
Subject:Comments on City Council Meeting for August 15, 2023
*** [EXTERNAL] This message comes from an external organization. Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown
senders. ***
Mayor Brown, Vice Mayor Balch, Council Member Arkin, Council Member Testa and Council Member Niebert,

I spoke at last evenings meeting (at 52+ minutes into the meeting) and I brought up the point that “I feel you may be
listening BUT you are not HEARING us residents”.

A great example of this was on full display last evening when after all public comments were finished Council Member
Arkin points out to “me” that Council can not respond to emails for an agenda item that is under negotiations. In
addition, I woke up to an email this morning from another Council Member, stating the same thing Council Member
Arkin stated last night.

I now know that at least 2 of you were not really hearing me, because IF you truly listened and heard what I said, you
would know that last evening I never mentioned that I sent an email regarding the police contract negotiations.
In my comments last evening I also mentioned that at least Vice Mayor Balch DID respond to my email, and in fact I
thanked him for that. That in itself should have told you that it was not about the police contract negotiations or Vice
Mayor Balch would not have responded to my email.

The email I was referring to was sent to you on July 19th and was regarding several other topics. IF you would like me to
remind what my concerns were and remain to be just respond to this email and I will be happy to resend it.

Debbie Wallace

Sent from Mail for Windows
