EXHIBIT A
Gmaii Ashish Choudhary
Re: Question on permit requirement for Tennis Court
1 message
pod <pod@cityofpleasantonca. ov> Mon,Aug 22, 2022 at 4:35 PM
To:Ashish Choudhary
Cc: Meenu Gochhwal
lm
Hello Ashish,
Thanks for your inquiry. The tennis court would not require any Planning review or permits. The same for
the 10-foot-high fence from a Planning perspective, but again it cannot exceed 10 feet at any point. A
Building permit would be require for the fence.
Regarding the lights, if they exceed 10 feet in height, they would be required to go through Administrative
Design Review with the Planning Division first and then obtain Building Permits. I have attached the
submittal requirements and application for the Administrative Design Review process.
Once you are ready to submit, please do so to the Planner on Duty using this link:
http://www.cityofpleasantonca.gov/gov/depts/cd/planning/electronic planning_submittal.asp
Please note the Administrative Design Review process requires the City to send notice to the neighbors. As
the Zoning Administrator who sits on hearings regarding neighbor disputes, I would highly recommend you
speak with the neighbors regarding your proposal. We do not get many applications for tennis courts,
especially with lighting, and so speaking with the neighbors in advance may settle any concerns before they
arise.
Additionally, please make sure you provide full specs. on the lights including their height (15-foot-tall
maximum) and proposed shielding, operational times, etc.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Best,
Eric Luchini
Planner on Duty.
