Staff consulted with Alameda County Transportation Commission staff regarding the
proposed design fee. Alameda CTC regularly designs and constructs similar-scale and
large-scale projects on CalTrans facilities. Based on their experience, the proposed
AECOM design fee for the Sunol project is consistent with design costs for similar
projects in the Bay Area.
Schedule
The design phase for the Sunol Interchange Improvement Project is approximately 16
months, which includes collaboration and oversight with CalTrans.
