Provide policy direction for the police use of situational awareness cameras Comments Dear Office Bearers of Pleasanton City Council: I sincerely hope that this comment is considered in all seriousness in regards to agenda " 7. Provide policy direction for the police use of situational awareness cameras". am a resident of 1997 Laguna Creek Ln., Pleasanton. I am commenting as there have been a spate of robberies and thefts within my community of Pheasant Ridge/Carlton Oaks which used to be a very safe/secure community to live in. Today when we leave our homes for work/school/personal matters there is a fleeting thought of whether my home will be the next target. \AL- also found out that the perpetrators are almost always not apprehended and the trauma of these incidents stay with the residents. This creates a general sense of mistrust and lack of well being which is extremely unhealthy. We are also aware of how law protection is spread way too thin. These are trying times and we need some amelioration of the existing systemic problems. Approving the policy for police use of situational awareness cameras is a step in the right direction. Wb- are all aware of Big Brother but a balanced, rationalized approach for deterrence and perpetrator tracking would definitely lead to better outcomes for community security. Thanks for hearing out my comments. Wish you guys the fortitude to take the right decision for the sake our children and what used to be a great community to live in.
