<br />CAB REAR WALL EXTERIOR COVERING
<br />The exterior surface of the rear wall of the cab will be overlaid with bright aluminum treadplate
<br />except for areas that are not typically visible when the cab is lowered.

<br />CAB LIFT
<br />A hydraulic cab lift system will be provided consisting of an electric powered hydraulic pump, dual
<br />lift cylinders, and necessary hoses and valves.
<br />Lift controls will be located on the right side pump panel or front area of the body in a convenient
<br />location.
<br />The cab will be capable of tilting 43 degrees to accommodate engine maintenance and removal.
<br />The cab will be locked down by a 2-point normally closed spring loaded hook type latch that fully
<br />engages after the cab has been lowered. The system will be hydraulically actuated to release the
<br />normally closed locks when the cab lift control is in the raised position and cab lift system is under
<br />pressure. When the cab is completely lowered and system pressure has been relieved, the spring
<br />loaded latch mechanisms will return to the normally closed and locked position.
<br />The hydraulic cylinders will be equipped with a velocity fuse that protects the cab from
<br />accidentally descending when the control is located in the tilt position.
<br />For increased safety, a redundant mechanical stay arm will be provided that must be manually
<br />put in place on the left side between the chassis and cab frame when the cab is in the raised
<br />position. This device will be manually stowed to its original position before the cab can be
<br />lowered.
<br />Cab Lift Interlock
<br />The cab lift system will be interlocked to the parking brake. The cab tilt mechanism will be active
<br />only when the parking brake is set and the ignition switch is in the on position. If the parking
<br />brake is released, the cab tilt mechanism will be disabled.

<br />A bright finished aluminum mesh grille screen, inserted behind a bright finished grille surround,
<br />will be provided on the front center of the cab.

<br />MIRRORS
<br />A Retrac, Model 613423, dual vision, motorized, west coast style mirror, with chrome finish, will
<br />be mounted on each side of the front cab door with spring loaded retractable arms. The flat glass
<br />and convex glass will be heated and adjustable with remote control within reach of the driver.

<br />DOORS
<br />To enhance entry and egress to the cab, the forward cab door openings will be a minimum of
<br />37.50" wide x 63.37" high. The crew cab doors will be located on the sides of the cab and will be
<br />constructed in the same manner as the forward cab doors. The crew cab door openings will be a
<br />minimum of 34.30" wide x 73.25" high.
<br />The forward cab and crew cab doors will be constructed of extruded aluminum with a nominal
<br />material thickness of 0.093". The exterior door skins will be constructed from 0.090" aluminum.
<br />A customized, vertical, pull-down type door handle will be provided on the exterior of each cab
<br />door. The finish of the door handle will be chrome/black. The exterior handle will be designed
<br />specifically for the fire service to prevent accidental activation, and will provide 4.00" wide x 2.00"
<br />deep hand clearance for ease of use with heavy gloved hands.
<br />Each door will also be provided with an interior flush, open style paddle handle that will be readily
<br />operable from fore and aft positions, and be designed to prevent accidental activation. The
<br />interior handles will provide 4.00" wide x 1.25" deep hand clearance for ease of use with heavy
<br />gloved hands.
<br />The cab doors will be provided with both interior (rotary knob) and exterior (keyed) locks
<br />exceeding FMVSS standards. The keys will be Model 751. The locks will be capable of activating
<br />when the doors are open or closed. The doors will remain locked if locks are activated when the
<br />doors are opened, then closed.
<br />A full length, heavy duty, stainless steel, piano-type hinge with a 0.38" pin and 11 gauge leaf will
<br />be provided on all cab doors. There will be double automotive-type rubber seals around the
<br />perimeter of the door framing and door edges to ensure a weather-tight fit.
<br />A chrome grab handle will be provided on the inside of each cab door for ease of entry.
<br />A red webbed grab handle will be installed on the crew cab door stop strap. The grab handles will
<br />be securely mounted.
<br />The bottom cab step at each cab door location will be located below the cab doors and will be
<br />exposed to the exterior of the cab.
