<br />FRONT SUSPENSION
<br />Front Oshkosh TAK-4™ independent suspension will be provided with a minimum ground rating
<br />of 19,500 lb.
<br />The independent suspension system will be designed to provide maximum ride comfort. The
<br />design will allow the vehicle to travel at highway speeds over improved road surfaces and at
<br />moderate speeds over rough terrain with minimal transfer of road shock and vibration to the
<br />vehicle's crew compartment.
<br />Each wheel will have torsion bar type spring. In addition, each front wheel end will also have
<br />energy absorbing jounce bumpers to prevent bottoming of the suspension.
<br />The suspension design will be such that there is at least 10.00" of total wheel travel and a
<br />minimum of 3.75" before suspension bottoms.
<br />The torsion bar anchor lock system allows for simple lean adjustments, without the use of shims.
<br />One can adjust for a lean within 15 minutes per side. Anchor adjustment design is such that it
<br />allows for ride height adjustment on each side.
<br />The independent suspension was put through a durability test that simulated 140,000 miles of
<br />inner city driving.

<br />Rear suspension will be a Hendrickson FMX 242 EX, air ride with a ground rating of 24,000 lb.
<br />The suspension will have the following features:
<br />- Heavy-duty shock absorbers to protect air springs from overextension
<br />- Heavy-duty torque rods and bushings
<br />- Premium, heavy-duty rubber bushings require no lubrication
<br />- Integrated stabilizer design results in greater stability

<br />Oil seals will be provided on the rear axle(s).

<br />DRIVER CONTROL DIFFERENTIAL LOCK (DCDL)
<br />A rear axle will be equipped with a driver controlled differential lock (DCDL).
<br />The control will be located within easy reach of the driver. An indicator light will be provided next
<br />to the control switch.

<br />REAR AIR RIDE SUSPENSION DUMP VALVES
<br />The rear air ride suspension will be supplied with a dump valve system provided by the custom
<br />chassis manufacturer.
<br />The control will be located at the driver's side rear of body.
<br />To prevent accidental activation of the valves, a 5 second timed delay will be built into the control
<br />circuit. The chassis back-up alarm will sound when the control is active.
<br />The parking brake must be applied before the control will be active. Release of the parking brake
<br />will automatically inflate the suspension.
