During this report, staff requested input from the
comrnission.
The Civic Arts Commission strongly recomrnends the following input on the Strategic Plan:
. The City should explore and implement a public afi fee (also known as a percent-for art
ordinance) to ensure fiscal sustainability of the vibrant public art program applicable to both
pubtic and private developtnent projects as stated in the 2014 Cultural Plan . Goal 4. Stlateqv
LL "Most public art programs depend on the percent-for-art rnechanisrn'to provide the
resources needed for irnplernentation of the prograrns."
o The Pleasanton General Plan's Public Facilities and Community Program Element
includes a relevant Program l5.l: "Review and update as appropriate the Arts in Public
Places Ordinance."
