IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> o I ANCE 5'3 <br /> <br />CHANGING THE OFFICE OF CITY CLERK FROM ELECTIVE <br />TO APPOINTIVE, FIXING THE COMPENSATION AND <br />REPEALING ORDI[~kNCES IN CONFLICT <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br /> ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find as follows: <br /> At Pleasanton, California, on April 10, 1962, in the regular <br /> <br /> municipal election, the electors of the City of Pleasanton did by <br /> <br />an affirmative vote pursuant to Section 36508 of the Government <br /> Code make the office of City Clerk appointive. At Pleasanton, <br /> California, on October 1, 1962, Margaret L. Conner, City Clerk, <br /> did submit her resignation as City Clerk, effective October 1, 1962 <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. The office of City Clerk shall be filled by <br /> appointment by the City Council in the form of a resolution duly <br /> passed and adopted by said City Council. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. The person or persons performing duties of City <br /> Clerk or deputy City Clerk shall receive no specific compensation <br /> for rendering such service to the City. Such person or persons <br /> shall be compensated pursuant to his or her particular job classi- <br /> fication and salary range fixed by the City Council and applied <br /> to all City employees. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 246 adopted June 13, <br /> 1955, and all other ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby <br /> repealed. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published once in <br /> <br /> "The Times", a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City, and shall become effective thirty days after adoption. <br /> <br />- 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
