RESOLUTION NO. 23-1409 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE LIVERMORE- <br /> PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY AND THE <br /> INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 1974, BATTALION <br /> CHIEFS UNIT, FOR THE TERM OF JANUARY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025 <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Battalion Chiefs were granted formal recognition as a bargaining unit, <br /> the International Association of Firefighters Local 1974, Battalion Chiefs Unit, which represents <br /> seven employees in the classification of Battalion Chief, effective July 18, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, representatives from the cities of Pleasanton and Livermore have met and <br /> conferred with representatives of the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1974, <br /> Battalion Chiefs Unit, and prepared an initial Memorandum of Understanding agreement covering <br /> the period January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Memorandum of <br /> Understanding between the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint Powers Authority and <br /> the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1974, Battalion Chiefs Unit for the term <br /> commencing September 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025. <br /> SECTION 2. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the <br /> book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a special meeting held on July 18, 2023. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a special meeting held on July 18, 2023, by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Joce(yKwoifig, C6 y Clerk <br /> AP ;OMSTO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
