Housing Commission Page 3 March 16, 2023 <br />•CRIL (Michael Galvan) – Housing & Independent Living Services <br />•ECHO Housing (Marge Rocha) – Housing Counseling Services <br />•Goodness Village (Kim Curtis) – Tiny Home Community <br />•Habitat for Humanity (Jen Grey) – Housing Rehabilitation Program <br />•Tri-Valley REACH (Pat O’Brien) – Housing Preventative Maintenance/Repair <br />Presenters responded to comments and questions from commissioners on their funding requests and <br />projects. <br />Vice Chair Galvin closed the meeting for agency presentations and asked commissioners to discuss <br />each of the funding requests. <br />After reviewing and considering each of the funding requests, the staff recommended funding, and <br />being provided information by Mr. Hernandez on available funds in the Lower Income Housing Fund, a <br />decision was made on funding allocations. <br />Motion: It was m/s by Fischer/Shempp recommending approval of the following funding allocations <br />through the Lower Income Housing Fund and HOME funds, including funding Goodness Village at its <br />full funding request: <br />$ 80,000 - Abode Services / Rapid Rehousing Program – Rent Subsidies / HOME <br />$ 40,000 - Abode Services / Rapid Rehousing Program – Case Management / LIHF <br />$ 46,628 - Centro Legal de la Raza / Tri-Valley Fair and Housing Project / LIHF <br />$ 80,000 - CityServe of the Tri-Valley / Homeless Intervention & Crisis Stabilization Program / LIHF <br />$ 15,000 - CRIL / Housing & Independent Living Skills / LIHF <br />$ 40,000 - ECHO Housing / Housing Counseling Services / LIHF <br />$ 57,720 - Goodness Village / Goodness Village / LIHF <br />$ 45,000 - Habitat for Humanity / Housing Rehabilitation Program Grants / HOME <br />$ 35,000 - Habitat for Humanity / Housing Rehabilitation Program Administration / LIHF <br />$ 40,000 - Tri-Valley REACH / Home Improvements Projects: Repair & Maintenance / LIHF <br />$479,348 - TOTAL <br />Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Galvin, Kripalani, Renton, Schempp, and Chair Fischer. <br />Noes: None. <br />Abstain: Commissioner Chillinsky. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION <br />There were none. <br />COMMISSION REPORTS <br />There were none. <br />FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS <br />Housing Manager Steve Hernandez advised commissioners that the April meeting may be cancelled. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Vice Chair Galvin adjourned the meeting at 8:36 p.m.
