RESOLUTION NO. 23-1405 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY <br /> CORRECTIONS ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT PREVENTION GRANT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton and surrounding areas have seen a significant <br /> increase in organized retail theft in the past few years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to participate in the Organized Retail Theft <br /> Prevention Grant Program funded through the State Budget Act and administered by the Board of <br /> State and Community Corrections (hereafter referred to as the BSCC). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes the City Manager, or his/her designee, to submit the grant <br /> proposal for this funding and sign the Grant Agreement with the BSCC, including any <br /> amendments thereof. <br /> SECTION 2. Grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant <br /> expenditures controlled by this body. <br /> SECTION 3. The City of Pleasanton agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the <br /> Grant Agreement as set forth by the BSCC. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on June 20, 2023. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the <br /> foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on June 20, <br /> 2023, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Councilmember Nibert <br /> Abstain: None <br /> 1"o JIA <br /> Jo lyn Kw ng, C� Clerk <br /> APPROVED S TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
