Next Step
The City Council must determine how to allocate the funds in the 35-gallon residential
cart migration liability account. The City Council Waste and Recycling Subcommittee
and City staff recommend the City Council direct that the 35-gallon residential cart
revenue continue to accrue in the liability account through rate period six (June 30,
2024) and the full amount in the liability account be remitted to the City no later than
September 30, 2024, and placed in the PGS special revenue reserve account (Fund
171). This will allow the City Council to determine how the 35-gallon residential cart
migration liability account funds will be used to benefit ratepayers moving forward.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Becky Hop ins Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Assistant to the Finance Director City Manager
City Manager
Attachment:
1.
