The Director of Finance shall select an appropriate, readily available
index to use as a market benchmark.
REPORTING
Monthly Reports
Monthly transaction reports will be submitted by the Director of Finance, via the City
Manager, to the City Council within 60 days of the end of the reporting period in
accordance with California Government Code Section 53607.
Quarterly Reports
The Director of Finance will submit a quarterly report to the City Council on the status of
the City's investment portfolio no later than 45 days after the end of each month. This
report shall include the types of investments, the amount of money invested with various
institutions, purchase and maturity dates, and yield on investments. The Director of
Finance will certify that the investment portfolio is in compliance with the investment policy
and that it will meet cash flow needs for the next six (6) months.
INVESTMENT POLICY ADOPTION
The City's investment policy will be submitted annually to the City Council for adoption by
the end of the fiscal year, to ensure its consistency with the overall objectives of
preservation of principal, liquidity and return, and its relevance to current law and financial
and economic trends.
Any recommended modifications or amendments shall be presented by staff to the
Governing Body for its consideration and adoption.
14
