17. Monitor citywide water capacity and authorize use of Wells 5 and 6 as necessary to meet <br /> maximum demand periods or alternatively adopt a resolution declaring a Stage 2 Water Shortage, <br /> mandating Pleasanton water customers reduce potable water usage by fifteen percent (15%), <br /> activating Stage 2 Water Shortage Rates, and applying excess use penalties as needed <br /> Recommendation: Monitor citywide water capacity and use Wells 5 and 6 as necessary to meet <br /> maximum demand periods. <br /> Tamara Baptista, Director of Operations and Water Utilities, and Todd Yamello, Utilities Planning <br /> Manager, presented the item. <br /> Mayor Brown opened public comment. The following individuals provided comment: Jill Buck, Olivia <br /> Sanwong, Vin Pohray, Rob Seeley, and Linda Kelly. <br /> Mayor Brown closed public comment. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Testa/Nibert to approve the item as recommended to monitor the citywide water <br /> capacity and use Wells 5 and 6 as necessary to meet maximum demand periods, with the modification <br /> to test wells 5 and 6 monthly. <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: Councilmember Balch <br /> Absent: None <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> By majority consensus, the Council directed staff to provide an informational update on the Livermore <br /> Airport at the June 6, 2023 meeting. <br /> COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers reported on regional and local agency meetings attended. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Mayor Brown adjourned the meeting at 11:34 p.m. <br /> 1 <br /> Jocely Kwonj, Cit lerk <br /> City Council Minutes Page 5 of 5 May 16, 2023 <br />
