This is unacceptable. There is nothing in the Airport Development Policy about
this.Never even mentioned.This is unacceptable.
R28 See R7
Comment noted. No specific alternative language or deletions provided.
C29 Section# 1.1 through 6.10
Page#1 through 23
Comment: Fails to implement the Livermore City Council Resolution of March 23,2010 "The city will
AGGRESSIVELY FOSTER the REDUCTION of aircraft NOISE"(emphasis mine)There is nothing in
the Airport Development Policy about this.Nothing.How will review of development proposals evaluate
noise impacts? What are the standards, the requirements, the goals? The Airport Development Policy
doesn't have a single word about this. Not. One. Word. A new development could ramp up noise
WITHOUT LIMIT,according to this Policy. This is unacceptable. This is complete and utter disregard
for the City and the public.
R29 See R5
Comment noted. No specific alternative language or deletions provided.
Commenter#10
C30 General comment: It is my opinion and many others that the city of Livermore, the airport management
and several of the pilots housing their aircraft at Livermore airport LVK I've been nothing short of
negligent in allowing excessive noise by particular pilots and aircraft over the course of more than 23
years. They always shirk their responsibilities of being good neighbors and considerate aircraft
enthusiasts by continuously circling over the homes in the Somerset and surrounding neighborhoods at
excessive throttle levels. I have contacted the tower, the airport manager, the airport assistant manager,
and the pilots directly as well as the city manager's office, and spoke to the city council about dealing
with just a few unruly and thrill seeking pilots that have found a safe haven at LVK. Since the justified
complaints have gone unmitigated,it is my opinion that the city should not have the option of expanding
the airport until they do a much improved job of modifying these particular pilots and their planes flying
habits. It is unacceptable for the city and airport management to ignore such a ongoing problem. If you
can't control just a handful of errant pilots. Then you are not qualified to do improvements at the airport
without disrupting even more people's lives. You should know without being better stewards of the airport
noise problem, you will face a tidal wave of resistance of which I will be one.You all should be ashamed
of yourselves. The reason is simple. Mitigating this problem is not complicated. All one would have to
do is have the airport manager go and talk to these pilots and it's easy to find them,as currently they are
the ones that are flying the Pitts Special Biplanes. This casual encounter might include suggesting that
they use the shorter runway which they are ideally suited for since they only need a short distance for
takeoff and landing. This would force them to circle out over the gravel pitch rather than over our homes.
Why is that so hard? It's not!
Comment Compilation and Response 8
City of Livermore, Livermore Municipal Airport (06/05/2023)
