After reading the recent Pleasanton Weekly news on the impasse between the Pleasanton Police Officers Association and City of Pleasanton, I am deeply concerned about the situation. In the past two months, there were two homicides in Pleasanton (one happened in Home Depot, and another one inside an apartment in an apparent robbery attempt).As a resident living in Pleasanton for almost a decade, I am shocked by the number of homicides in 2023. In the meantime, my neighbors and friends are often talking about the increasing number of shop robberies and car break-ins happening in our city.This is a time when more police officers are needed. However, there are already vacancies in the Pleasanton Police Department which we have a hard time to fill.To attract capable and great officers to fill those vacancies, we will need to have a competitive package. i
