It is unfathomable that our elected leaders would allow conditions at
the Police Department to deteriorate to this point. Any city's primary obligation and responsibility to its citizens is to
keep them safe, and you are failing in providing the fundamental service. To believe that we will remedy this situation
with compensation that is below that of our regional competitors is beyond comprehension. Our officers have served
our community with pride and professionalism in the most challenging environment of any of our lifetimes, and it is time
to provide more to thank them for their service. It is time to provide them with the compensation they deserve and that
the market demands. It is time to invest in one of our most valuable resources; it is time to invest in our police
officers. As a parent of three school aged children, I am very concerned your lack of action will negatively affect the
safety of my children. I specifically moved my family to Pleasanton for the safe community we were once
accustomed to.
Asok
aspectfully,
1
