Christina Casha
.-.From: Ellen Holmgren
Sent: Friday,June 2, 2023 5:03 PM
To: Veronica McKnight
Subject: RE: City council meeting June 6 agenda item 11 on consent agenda
Dear Veronica McKnight,
Thank you for your email to the Mayor and City Council. Exercise caution when opening attachments or
clicking links, especially from unknown senders. ***
Dear Mayor Brown,Vice Mayor Balch, Members Testa,Arkin, Niebert, City Manager and City Attorney,
I have been following much of the information recently made available and would like to express my concerns.
I cannot support any decision to approve the budget as presented. I am opposed to spending$10.6 million on skate park
and century house. Pleasanton already has two skate parks and neither is used heavily. Investing further in skateparks
makes no sense.
I would also like to recommend that the century house and land be sold to an entity that will restore it vs continuing to
dump money into it with zero return.
We have two serious issues facing our town. Clean water without PFAS contamination and our local law enforcement
which is seriously understaffed. Police department personnel need to be compensated same as surrounding similar
cities not less than those cities.
I urge you to not pass this budget and go back to discussions on how to address the most important priorities in our
community. Which is after all why you all were elected, to focus on safety for all residents and clean water for all
residents anything less is abandonment of your duties.
incerely,
Veronica McKnight
1
